When the team at FASS with 30 years of nursing experience approached us with a concept, it was a concept too important to pass. If we could save 2 minutes in every syringe injection, we could save countless lives in time-sensitive settings. From the ER, military applications and beyond.
Every syringe operation requires needle switching from drug extraction to delivery, which takes 2-3 minutes on average and poses signifiant risk to self-inflicted injury for nurses. The goal was to create an innovative syringe that offers simple and safe quickswitching of needles.
The result: Nurses are able to consistently complete a full syringe operation in 20 seconds. Autoretracting needles significantly reduces risk of injury during operation and post-disposal.
